The cost of the LSAT is the same for both first-time and repeat test takers. For the August 2024-June 2025 testing year, LSAT registration costs $238 .
If you have already completed an LSAT Writing or LSAT Argumentative Writing sample, you do not need to complete LSAT Argumentative Writing again. However, if you would like to retake LSAT Argumentative Writing as well, please contact LSAC’s Candidate Services team at LSACinfo@LSAC.org or 1.800.336.3982 .
For your LSAT to be considered complete, you only need one writing sample on file — either from LSAT Writing or from LSAT Argumentative Writing. In order to see your score or have your score released to law schools, you must have a completed writing sample on file.
